- Sewing and fashion designing
This is going on with expertise and skill under the capable and excellent leadership of Mrs Gaithri Ramlakan and Kay Ramkilawon. All domestic needs of the Haven are met by the fashion designing team. They are responsible for sewing curtains, tablecloths, beddings, children's clothing, etc. People are also being taught fashion designing to enrich and empower them with their acquired skills.
- Domestic Gardening & Maintenance
This was successful under the capable hands of the late Mr Manilal Ramlakan. He was instrumental in organic farming and outsourced income for the Haven of Rest. Special thanks to Roy Parboo (supervisor) and labourers Thulani Chiliza, Mxolisa Nksasa, Zola Shawe, Joseph Ncobo and Harry Smith for their upkeep of the gardens.
Much renovation has been done under the capable leadership of Ps. Ronnie Naidoo together with the staff of the Haven of Rest. Mr. Ronnie Moonsamy for his painting abilities and
Mr Clive van Hoffenberg for his electrical skills and his all round handyman abilities.
- Welding
The welding services are still on going but the block making is on hold due to the lack of transport. We require a vehicle to transport blocks to the sites. Thank you to Neilan Rajagopaul for his skills in welding.
- Book room
The Haven of Rest book room is established in the church and is doing well under the capable hands of Thiru Philips. All proceeds from the book room help to fund the Haven of Rest. We also appreciate Regina Naidoo for her assistance in the bookroom.
- Tuck Shop
The Tuck-shop has been in operation since 2004 for domestic use. The residents don't have to leave the premises for their necessary purchases. This department is thriving as both residents and staff make full use of this facility. All funds generated goes towards the funding of the Haven of Rest. We extend our thanks and appreciation to Malie Naidoo and Rooku Naidoo for their efficient running of the tuck shop.
- Laundry and Linen Room
The Haven of Rest will not be complete without our skilled and efficient Mrs Amoy Gounden. She has used her knowledge and skills obtained in the hotel industry to good use. She is responsible for all the laundry washing at the Haven of Rest. She is also responsible for the distribution of beddings and linen to all departments including our guest house. She also does all alterations and sewing pertaining to laundry.
