Haven of Rest does not only meet the needs of the residents at the Haven of Rest but it is also a resource and distribution centre. Stock control of items in coming and out going is well maintained by our Stock Controllers.
On a daily basis we give out grocery hampers to needy people. We were able to donate many boxes of clothes to many rural areas.
Last year we had several major outreach crusades where we were able to distribute food items and clothes to Greylands, Emona, Frasers and Magwaveni.
This year we distributed clothes and food items to Rajkumar, Greylands, Groutville School, Emona School, Cottonland School, Zambia and Mozambique, New Glasgow and Malawi.
We have now embarked on a bigger assignment to send food and clothing to Malawi and Zambia which we hope would be done before the year is out.
We are in dire need of a container and cold storage space to enable us to store blankets, clothing and food to distribute as the need arises.
