Haven of Rest - Healing the nations

The Haven of Rest School is now in its sixth year of existence; the school is registered with Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) and with Department of Education.

The school has a total of twenty-three learners ranging from Grade 0 to Grade 4. Our staff comprises of 4 educators, a principal and an administrator. This ensures the smooth running of the school. The educators attend regular workshops to keep in line with the government's requirements for private schools. The ACE system has also incorporated the department's requirements with the Revised National Curriculum Statement (RNCS).

The curriculum, which encourages individualized learning that is: each learner works at his/her own pace. The educator works with the weaker learners at their own pace and encourages the fast learners to accelerate at a higher pace. Learners are taught goal settings, which help them achieve aims in life.

The school caters for the Haven of Rest children as well as the children from the community.

Learners have excelled academically and in character development. We have been blessed with a computer room by Ricky and Saras Naicker. They have donated six computers to start our computer literacy training programme for the children at the Haven of Rest. We require a teacher that specialises in computer literacy and look forward to starting this programme in the new year.

Plans have been drawn up for an education block, this will incorporate classrooms inclusive of a staff block, computer room, library, pool etc. The future is bright as we endeavour to educate learners to be academically, spiritually, morally and socially sound individuals. Our aim is to create a balanced individual for life.
