It was once the pride and joy for the Tongaat Hullett Group. This successful hospital served the employees of the Tongaat Hullett Group on the Natal North Sugar Coast. From the inception, God had an ultimate destiny for the “Group Hospital” as it was known. During the years, many offers were made by outsides to purchase the property. Apostle Ronnie Naidoo of the Apostolic Faith Mission - Tongaat Church was one such influential figure who offered to purchase the land in 1992. However, an exorbitant amount prevented the church from purchasing the hospital. Nevertheless, all hope was not lost because the hospital was eventually sold to the Church in December 2000.
This massive faith project undertaken by the Apostolic Faith Mission – Tongaat Church has since immensely progressed with the help of other churches, para church organizations, welfare bodies, politicians, private persons, business sectors and NGO's. The HAVEN OF REST is ideally located within close proximity to the CBD of Tongaat, beaches, golf course and is only 30 minutes away from Durban City and International Airport.
The name ‘Tongaat' means “A little place of great importance”, is set amidst sugar-cane plantations and is home to approximately 45000 people. The Haven Of Rest is strategically positioned in this “Little place of great importance” offering hope and healing not only to Tongaat, but to KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa and surrounding nations. This has been a vision and dream of Apostle Ronnie and Shirley Naidoo, together with the church, to have such a place to cater for the emotional, spiritual and physical needs of the community. Today, this vision has finally come to pass.
